The following steps are based on Windows 10 (and Citrix Receiver client version 4.9). Ensure you are logged on with a Windows-administrative account. Launch Control Panel, and navigate to 'Apps & Features' 3. Highlight the relevant Citrix client entry, for example: 'Citrix Receiver' or 'Citrix Workspace' 4. Click 'Uninstall. Using Citrix Workspace app, users get the latest interface with the ability to access Citrix Workspace, including files and applications. At the same time, Citrix Receiver only allows you to view file names with a basic, older interface. Below are for older Browser/Citrix Receiver Deployments: No longer recommended to perform these steps in newer releases of Internet Browsers. We have an issue with a user that has access to a panel of 6 applications at a financial software provider through a web browser (Windows 10 1709 build 16299.248). One of the application would not load in Citrix Receiver.
The user is running the latest version of the Citrix Receiver (we uninstalled/cleaned/reinstalled it more than 6 times just in the last week, asked by the software provider support team) but she is still not able to connect the applications. It works if she connects from the PC (Windows 10 1709 build 16299.192) of the colleague next to her...
Behavior when we just uninstall/clean/reinstall or reset the Citrix Receiver:
- she clicks on the app in the web browser (we tried with IE 11, Edge, Chrome and Firefox)
- she is asked to confirm server and logon
- she clicks ok to move on
- a splash screen of the app provider appears and stays on
- an empty window briefly pops up and disappears
- an icon of the app appears in the taskbar
- no window is displayed if we click on it
- we then close the app window from the icon in the task bar
- we launch the application from the web browser again, now nothing happens at all until we again reset the Citrix Receiver...
We found something strange while experimenting
- we go to the Advanced settings of the Citrix Receiver
- we reset the Citrix Receiver
- we change DPI Settings to No
- she does the same steps then
- a splash screen of the app provider appears ans stays on
- an first window of the app with info appears this time behind the splash windows but hangs
- the icon of the app appears in the taskbar and nothing happens anymore
- we are left with the first screen of the app not responding with the splash window above it that we cannot move...
It seems there is at some point some issue with the DPI support of W10, would that be the problem?
The software provider says its a PC issue and provides no pointers as where to look...
Is there a Citrix Receiver log on the PC that could show what's happening at each stage of the connection and find out where this hangs??
Thanks for any help, hints or comments, we are really against a wall here...
